Information processed when you use DNSReach
When you run a DNS or RDAP lookup, DNSReach processes the domain name, hostname, IP address or record type you submit so it can return the requested result. Lookup responses may be held temporarily in technical caches to improve speed and reliability.
Like most web services, DNSReach and its infrastructure may process technical request information such as an IP address, date and time, requested path, browser or user-agent information, response status and security signals. This information supports delivery, rate limiting, troubleshooting and protection against abuse.
Analytics
DNSReach uses Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregated usage, such as page views, device categories, approximate geography and interactions with site features. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies. DNSReach enables IP anonymization in its analytics configuration.
You can limit analytics through browser privacy controls, content blockers or Google’s Analytics opt-out tools. Blocking analytics does not prevent use of the DNSReach tools.
Service providers and public data sources
DNSReach relies on service providers for hosting, security, content delivery and analytics, including OVHcloud, Cloudflare and Google Analytics. Lookup requests may be sent to the public DNS resolvers, authoritative nameservers, registries or RDAP services needed to answer your query. Those organizations process requests under their own policies.
How information is used
- To provide DNS, resolver and registration-information results.
- To maintain security, prevent misuse and enforce reasonable rate limits.
- To diagnose errors and improve performance, content and usability.
- To respond when you contact us.
DNSReach does not sell personal information. DNSReach does not ask users to create accounts for its public lookup tools.
Retention and security
Technical data is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for operations, security, troubleshooting and legal obligations. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no Internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and questions
You may avoid submitting any domain or address you do not want processed. Depending on where you live, privacy law may provide rights concerning personal information. To ask a privacy question or make a request, email [email protected].
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as DNSReach evolves. The effective date above will be changed when a material revision is published.
